Brandart joins the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

In a decisive move to align with global climate goals, Brandart has officially joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This initiative provides companies with a clearly defined pathway to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in line with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C.

The Science Based Targets initiative is grounded in the latest climate science, offering companies a structured approach to emission reductions. By setting science-based targets, companies take a proactive stance to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change.

The urgency of this action cannot be underestimated. The latest climate report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which the UN has called a “code red for humanity,” warns that the window to limit global warming to 1.5°C is rapidly closing. To prevent crossing this critical threshold, it is vital to drastically reduce emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero by 2050.

Brandart has committed to set near-term company-wide emission reductions in line with climate science with the SBTi. This commitment reflects Brandart alignment with the scientific imperatives above-mentioned and reinforces its climate action efforts. In this process, Brandart is actively working with DNV, a renowned global assurance and risk management company that helps businesses navigate complex regulatory landscapes while demonstrating their commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.

Brandart encourages all its stakeholders to join this vital effort by committing to science-based targets. Together, we can contribute to averting the most severe impacts of climate change and build a more responsible future.
